How to Travel without Leaving the Country

From previous blog posts of my travel adventures, many may think that you have to go to some far away place to have an adventure. But, like me, people can forget that there are many places in their own country that are great to enjoy! Sometimes I forget that there are cool sites here in the USA to discover. Therefore, my sisters and I organized a hiking trip to one of the local national parks and stayed with a family member who lived close.

Here are some ideas to travel without leaving the country:

House Exchange with a Friend or Family Member
You can exchange homes of family or friends in another location for a weekend getaway! It is a great way to be in a another city and explore new restaurants, museums, and other cool places in a new location other than your hometown! If you do not want to exchange homes and just want to get away, try an Airbnb!

Visit the National Parks
Some of the parks near to where I live are forgotten about and so funding for them is low. Enjoying some of the national parks around the country will support the wildlife and others in need of the parks operating to prevent take over of residential development and shutting down.

Go to a Museum
Maybe you are out of ideas of what to do.. Well, why not visit a museum? It is a great way to get out of the house and feel like you have stepped back in time, forward in time, or like you are in another location in some part of the world! Like I said, you do not have to go far to have an adventure and learn something new which is not to far from you.

Enjoy nearby Beaches, Lakes, or Mountains!
I really would love to visit some exotic beaches in Thailand or like the ones I have been to in Panama, however, you do not have to go far to soak up some sun! There are plenty of beaches, lakes, and even mountain sites to hike and enjoy the natural beauties that are all around you. In any part of the world, there are beautiful places so get out and see them!

Also, if you are looking to stay on budget, connect with family and friends who live in locations of interest to you. This is one of my tips that I explained in a previous post about ways to travel free or on a budget!
