Peace Corps Timeline

So for anyone interested to volunteer with the Peace Corps, how the process went for me is listed below!

May 2013: Completed and submitted my Peace Corps application (essays, fingerprints, and other application questions)
June 2013: Received an email to schedule an interview with a recruiter.
July 2013: Finished my interview and I am accepted! But, I have to wait four to six months for my official invitation and placement site.
July 2013- November 2013:  Finished medical tasks to receive my invite to serve and my location.
January 2014: Received my placement and official invitation! I am scheduled to leave for Panama June 2014 as a Sustainable Agriculture Systems Extension Agent! I will be working with the locals to help them understand sustainable farming alternatives, quality control and marketing methods, develop market channels, and improve their diets to ensure they receive the proper nutrition.
February 2014- June 2014: Medical tasks, passport paperwork, press release of my service, safety orientation online, and spend as much time with family and friends as possible!
Mid-June 2014: Leave to Washington D.C. for staging and then Panama.

The application process is very long. If you have any questions, just leave a comment or message!

These experiences that I share are my own opinions and do not have any bearing on the organizations ideas, Peace Corps.
